Excel has only a limited number of colors. Using Clarify/Intensify Colors Use it to differentiate distinct elements of a list, to code inputs according to importance in your model or simply to make your work more appealing.

| Note These tools use the “shading” feature from the cell’s format, painting-in the background with different amounts of white points. Applying this tool with lighter colors will give the impression that the color is getting lighter, but when using it with darker or more intense colors, the trick will not work. Tip: Use it in combination with the Select Alternate Rows tool to produce the following effect:
